Colchester County High School for Girls - Items filtered by date: September 2018

Students at CCHSG have achieved the best set of A Level results in the history of the school. This is despite the added challenge of the new A level courses.

26% of all grades were A*.

62% of all grades were A*/A, and 88.5% of all grades were A*/B.

18 students gained 4 or more A and A* grades and 4 students gained 5 A and A* grades.

Every student has passed every examination taken and has achieved a minimum of 3 Advanced Level passes.

Each year around a quarter of our Sixth Form students join us in Year 12 from other secondary schools. This year outstanding results were achieved by our Sixth Formers who took their GCSEs at Philip Morant School, Honywood Community School, St. Mary’s School for Girls, Hedingham School, St. Helena School and St Benedict’s College.     Credit is due for the foundation they received at these schools which, in addition to the support at CCHSG, helped them to achieve excellent A level results.

Mrs Marshall said “We are extremely proud of the students and these outstanding results will form a stepping stone to future success.  We thank them for their tremendous contribution to CCHSG and wish them every happiness in the future.”

Our Year 11 students have once again broken school records! We thank students, staff, governors and parents for their ongoing work and support.  90% of grades were at 9/8/7 (or A/A* equivalent), 98% of grades were at 9/8/7/6 (or A*/B equivalent) & 45% of grades were at a 9 (or A* equivalent). 72% of grades were at 9/8 (or A/A* equivalent) and 100% of students gained the equivalent of 5 grade 9-5 including English and Mathematics. We are thrilled for all our students and delighted at the opportunities that these results make available for them.
