Staff have been working on Improvement Planning in their CPD session.  The plenary task - to present a summary of their subject or area Development Plan in under 30 seconds - was certainly a challenge. First prize went to Computing for an excellent 32 second attempt.

Students' success in Essex Young Poet of the Year

Four CCHSG students, selected from over 600 entries, were invited to attend the Essex Young Poet of the Year prize ceremony on Saturday, 8 October at Chelmsford's Cramphorn Theatre.  Congratulations to Grace Puckey, Molly Papps, Alex Webster-Hirst and Daisy Thomas who were our prize winners.

CCHSG has recently been designated as the Lead School in the Colchester Teacher Training Consortium (CTTC) which comprises 14 secondary and 40 primary schools.

CCHSG is delighted to announce that the Secretary of State has approved its joint application to establish a new school in the Northern Growth Area of Colchester.

The bid was made in partnership with two other successful, local schools: The Gilberd School and Manningtree High School.

Following the truly impressive results achieved by our GCSE students last year, the girls in Year 11 have followed in the same footsteps.

88% of grades were at A/A* and 98.5% of grades were at A*/B.

On 1st July, Ozzadeh from Year 7 was one of the 108 finalists to compete in the Final of the Routes into Languages Spelling Bee Competition at the Anglia Ruskin University. She won the National Final for French.

We have started extensive building work in the school.  Almost every area of the school will be undergoing some form of building or refurbishment.

We thank you for your understanding.

Year 12 joint Biology & Geography field trip 2016

87 students and 7 staff set off for the Isle of Wight on the joint field trip on the 11th March for 4 days of hard work and fun. We had really warm weather, so the layers of thermals were thankfully not needed this year! We stayed at the PGL site, Little Canada and were very well looked after there by the field studies staff, with the girls working in groups of 6 with specialist instructors.
