Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge

On the 24th of April, we participated in the East Essex Regional finals of Jack Petchey’s “Speak Out” Challenge. Although it was extremely nerve-wracking, we both thoroughly enjoyed the event. We delivered talks entitled “The Only Way Is Essex Is Not The Only Way” and “Enslaved By Social Networking” respectively, showcasing the skills that we’ve been taught in our English lessons. We were able to compete against students from the various state schools in the region, interacting with others and making new friends. Not only was the event a fantastic experience, but the planning and preparation from all staff involved, especially Mr Gosling and his catering team, was greatly appreciated! We would definitely recommend that next year’s Year 10 get involved with this activity, and it was a privilege to be part of it.
