
Healthy Living is an exciting subject, which motivates students who can see its relevance to their current and future lives. It embraces the government's Citizenship requirements and encourages critical thinking.
Key Stage 3
The aim of the Key Stage 3 course is to ensure that all students receive a practical food education and to promote the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.
All students should leave school able to cook and make informed dietary choices.
Students will be given the opportunity to develop their practical skills to a high level and will consider hygiene, budgeting, nutrition, and the relationship between diet and health when preparing and cooking meals. They are given the opportunity to engage in activities, which are challenging, relevant and motivating.
Sixth Form
In the Sixth form students will have the opportunity to develop their practical skills further, with particular emphasis on cooking healthy meals on a budget.
